Also never found a review article discussing this phenomenon. Anyone seen one? Shc1 (p52/p46 isoforms) is one example.
Does anybody know of a review article on alternative initiation generating both a mitochondrial & a cytoplasmic protein from the same mRNA? It is commonly observed, but whenever someone tries to write it up in a database blurb or a 'zine post they get bogged down inventing terms. #proteomics
