Casual post holiday run. Was too busy and lazy to do any in Arizona so I had an unintentional 4 day break. Key is to get right back on the horse. 4 ish miles.

Unreasonably warm but it felt great all the same.

Onward.

The new ANACONDA reboot tries its best to do something interesting, recognizing that a remake of the '97 movie would have been a fool's errand.

All the same, more than anything, it proves the original is a unique and untouchable cult classic. I love it dearly.

James Ransone's passing hit me hard. That's in no small part because he was a key part of some of my favorite horror movies of the last 15 years. He was a lowkey secret weapon.

I did my best to pay tribute to a great character actor who left us far too soon.

James Ransone Was The Secret Weapon Of Some Of The Best Horror Movies Of The 2010s - SlashFilm
James Ransone sadly passed away at the age of 46. He was a talented performer who elevated every project he was in, especially in the horror genre.

Oh f**t it. Peter Debruge calling THE LIFE OF CHUCK the worst movie of 2025 sent me. That's only possible is if he saw 1 movie this year.

You'll never catch me writing a "worst of" list but forced to at gun point, I would at least understand that words have meaning. You know, like the word "worst."
For no reason at all, certainly not in response to some terrible f*****g worst of 2025 list, here's my earnest attempt to heap praise upon Mike Flanagan's THE LIFE OF CHUCK, which instantly became one of my favorite movies of all time.

The Best Stephen King Movie Of 2025 Wasn't A Horror Film - SlashFilm
2025 was another banner year for Stephen King movie adaptations, yet the most unconventional and ambitious film of the pack wasn't strictly a work of horror.

AVATAR: FIRE AND ASH had one of the biggest openings at the box office in 2025 with $345 million globally. Was it smaller than WAY OF WATER? Yes. Does that matter in the grand scheme of things? Not really.

Avatar: Fire and Ash might've opened with less at the box office than the last Avatar movie, The Way of Water, but rest assured, it still had a monster debut.

Because of all the ear issues I had this year I can't use in-ear headphones anymore, which has made listening to music far less enjoyable. I got some big over-ear headphones recently and at long last feel like I can actually bump tunes in a satisfying way.

It's the little things, man.

The fact that THE HOUSEMAID made $19 million while AVATAR: FIRE AND ASH, a new SPONGEBOB movie and the faith-based DAVID all arrived on the same weekend is great. That's how it should be.

DK Metcalf took a swing at a fan. Why the fuck is he still in this Steelers/Lions game?
December 21, 2025 at 11:12 PM
AVATAR: FIRE AND ASH will be fine despite a soft $88 million box office opening in the U.S. Depending on how things go we might need to have a conversation about the viability of AVATAR 4 but let's not pretend the sky is falling.

I legitimately cannot believe that STAR WARS: The FORCE AWAKENS is 10 years old. No matter what came after, no matter what happens with this franchise in the future, I love this movie with every fiber of my being. One of th best cinematiic experiences of my life.

The new ANACONDA has all of the right pieces. Good cast, an interesting take, some funny ideas. Unfortunately, it comes up a touch short much of the time. Some great bits. It's charming. CGI leaves much to be desired. A mixed bag.
