On Jan 7, 2026 six Minneapolis moms subdued an ICE agent, took his gun, dragged him down the stairs, tased and beat him till unconscious. He suffered a heart attack and traumatic head injury.

ICE agents are doubtlessly taking their cue from the Trump administration's full throated defense of cold blooded murder, but they should ask themselves if angry juries will convict anyone defending themselves from them with any force up to and including lethal after last week.

There are so many other great political moments in Cap's own book. One of my favourites was when he discovered the secret leader behind a fascist coup attempt was Richard Nixon - who shot himself rather than be revealed.

It's fascinating that by far the most political and memeified Captain America moments are from issues of Daredevil he was a guest star in. Primarily Daredevil 283 by Ann Nocenti and Mark Bagley and Daredevil 233 by Frank Miller and David Mazzucchelli.
