I’m not completely sold on the absent minded Professor stereotype but for the second time in as many months my wife showed up home and asked where the car was? and I had to tell her she drove it to work.

Every year a local Aviator Pete Spence does flyovers of our small town #ckont Cenotaphs in his WWII era Harvard MKII, the roar of the engine always gets me.

I get those phishing emails like “Can you take my shift?“ I feel a bit bad delete/reporting them as junk thinking what if it was legit and the person sending thinks their coworker is a complete asshole for ghosting them?

I saw 1/2 loaves of Dempster’s Sandwich Bread at the grocery store today- I’m still trying to decide whether that’s a good thing or a bad thing

We moved to a rural agricultural town 20+ years ago, today I accidentally went downtown it was swamped with Halloween Golden Pumpkin trick or treaters. Best costume a small child driving a novelty John Deere Tractor, hauling a John Deere Wagon with a 50lb bag of feed bungee corded in the wagon

Not surprised the SportsNet Now servers went down last night they can’t handle the demand -they went down when the Raptors were in the Finals, they went down numerous times during the World Cup broadcasts - I unsubscribed, why would I pay for something they can’t deliver.

Just a PSA/note to self, high protein Greek Yoghurt curdles when you use it straight to make Stroganoff. Unlike Sour Cream and full fat Balkan Yoghurt I think you need to add some 35% Cream to help keep it from breaking.

Stopped at the Super Amigo grocery store in Chatham ON-there was a teacher and her class from Chatham Christian School they all had a list of Mexican ingredients they had to find and I think she instructed them they could get one thing that wasn’t one their list. I thought it was a pretty cool idea

Our dog hates those little novelty Drones the neighbours kids have, I think it has the same sound/frequency as Yellow Jacket Wasps, the minute she hears the Drone she bolts for the door

Frost warning in #ckont so the plants come in (again). Here’s an interesting one I got from a Trini friend Spanish Thyme/Trini Thyme he uses it for Trinidad Green Seasoning

I grew Aleppo Peppers this year -it’s the start of Chile Pepper dehydrating season they’re only supposed to be 10 000 Scoville Units so it’s kind of unusual I can’t go into the kitchen without my Sinuses burning

Temperatures starting to dip at night so it’s Chile Pepper harvest time: Shishito (for powder) 4 Types of Habanero Orange (2 plants very prolific). Red harvested 4 from one plant very hot and White harvested 3 from one plant also extremely hot. Time to freeze them for salsa until next summer.

We bought corn and garlic at a roadside stand in August, they’re Mexican Mennonite and I noticed the Chile Peppers growing in their field. So I’ve been creeping their stand weekly in hopes those Red Chiles in the field hit the stand - hey there’s that silver car again

Prepping to Vacuum freeze Sweet Corn - thought I could jam it through the Bundt Pan hole to shuck -apparently it’s too small and it seems wrong to ‘drill’ out a family hierloom

It always amazes me the difference between winning the division or a wild card in MLB always cones down to a game you blew-off in May

Too funny, went to Vet the other day NG wants to get in, does the routine of jumping on the scale, gets her treat, then recognizes the Vet Tech falsetto voice and immediately pulls to the door and acts like she’s been tricked.

3rd in the WTF picture series - random Wilder Bench Press and plastic weights circa 80’s Consumer’s Distributing Catalogue just adjacent to the Uhaul parking lot. Guessing the owner looks a bit like Popeye the right-side was 5lbs lighter
