Warning. I still talk quite a bit about rugby.
Hunter out for 2-3 weeks for the Reds. If Jock Campbell is out too it’s a couple of massive blows for them with a couple of tough weeks ahead (all weeks are tough in reality). Expect Dre Pakeho to start at 12 and perhaps Heremaia Murray at 15. Really missing Creighton, Petaia, JOC and Grealy now.

Brilliant win Tahs. A very important one. Lots of expectations. First game of the season. At home. A win over a kiwi team. Loved that they kept fighting back into the game. Awesome impact from the bench. Amone two tries of course but both Grants, Adamson & Vailanu were ace.

I know he deserves a rest as he works so hard but it must be such a hard decision to take Angus Bell off.

Deserved try for Jorgensen. He’s been very good tonight o reckon.

Terrific patience by the Tahs in that maul. Porecki with great control at the back.

Down to 13 and the Tahs take a shot for goal. Shees lost opportunity I feel. I want to cheer for them as an Aussie team but that’s soft.

Taniela desperate to get a try assist to his stats sheet …

Crazy work rate by Angus Bell. And just so damn effective too. What a player.

Soft tackle attempt by Kellaway there but that was a soft option by Gordon to kick there. Tahs have some space out wide but seem a little blinkered in game plan.

Haven’t used this platform much I’m afraid. Might make it my Super Rugby match platform of choice perhaps. Apologies in advance.

Really good article on Tommy Lynagh. Love the work ons that have been IDed for him to work on.

The Reds have one hell of a forward squad but are perhaps a little light on out wide. We’ll need the fringe Wallabies like Lynagh, Paisami and Flook to shine this year.

Wallaroos fixtures for 2025 confirmed 👍 Looks like PAC4 will primarily be in Australia this time. Two matches vs Wales in the runup to the RWC

The Queensland Reds have signed former All Black loose head prop, Aidan Ross, on a contract stating from July 2025 through 2027. The kicker is that he becomes Aussie eligible at that time (mid next year). Great signing.

Michael Cheika is apparently being considered for the role.

Joe Schmidt’s first season with the Wallabies has finished with a record of 6 wins in 13 games, so a less than 50% win rate. Yet most see it as a successful year (as do I). Much goes down to how we finished the year as much as anything else. But can we compare it to previous Wallaby coaches?

That Aussie 7s women’s team is incredible. I mean so are the kiwis and that final in Dubai was just epic. Charlotte Caslick just keeps on preforming. Her work rate was astronomical. What a legend.

A rugged encounter for the Wallabies there. Some missed opportunities and they could have (should have?) sealed that match. But all in all a positive tour with lots of positives and depth still back at home. Bring on 2025.

Given the historical significance of the test tonight, I thought I’d throw together my favourite ‘all time that I saw’ Irish XV. Some tough to leave out, most notably Brendan Mullin.

A lot being made of Edmed shaping to be our 19th debutant in our 13th test this year. What about back in 2021 we had 10 in 6 tests.

Congrats to Scotland. The expected result to be fair. Couldn’t get a more disrupted build up for the Wallabies. Red card hearing. Only one field session. White stuff falling from the sky. Two late pull outs and then JAS injured. A great learning experience for the team.

Scotland very good.

Magic. Wizard. Potter. Etc etc.

Can’t help but think they Joe chose this match to put his team under pressure to see how they react. Obviously lead up doesn’t help. But tactical replacements are noteworthy.

Regardless starting to see some really lazy defence by the wallabies.

Interesting half. We kinda look like a team who haven’t trained and with two late forced changes.

I reckon key will be how we react to the officiating. We ain’t quite doing it at the moment (need to calm down). Patience key.

JAS limits our impact. We are hanging in there.

Other than perhaps Ambrose I don’t think I’ve seen a better international fast bowler than Bumrah. Legend.

An astonishing amount. As Brendan states, a stark reminder of the viability of rugby in its current state.
Stunning report by @charliemorgan.bsky.social that RFU will announce a 40m pound loss. Combine that with Wales' issues off the field, and it certainly underlines the fact that Rugby has an administration problem.
Some really worrying things happening in the sport.
