"I take our seven guys over anyone in the league."

Nick Suzuki's statement about the Canadiens' defencemen may seem hyperbolic. But in Thursday's win over the Avalanche, Montreal's D-corps looked as strong as any in the NHL. www.sportsnet.ca/nhl/article/...

It can’t go much better than that. The league’s best gets dominated by the Canadiens who put 7 on the board. The Wilde Cards is my view on the goalie coach being fired.

The well played competitive game with the Habs getting a lot of strong performances. The goats is the one issue the team defence can’t get beyond.

This COTW goes where I wish I didn’t have to but it must be done.

The Canadiens were strong in Boston but fell apart in the third.

Also, why to temper expectations this season is the Wilde Cards. All for Global Montreal.

Wilde Cards I want you to remember when I am long gone and you’re enjoying the great success of this era. The talent, the culture, the mentor: it’s all there waiting for you to enjoy.

This is the best speech, just from a pure rhetoric perspective - its sophistication and persuasiveness - that I've seen a politician deliver in a good long while. Really recommend watching or reading the whole thing.

More positives are Danault and Montembeault.

And to round out the COTW, the Wilde Cards is Demidov’s path to the Calder Trophy.
