My wife and I pay for life insurance even though we have never died. I pay for fire insurance even though my house has never burned down. That's not because we want to throw money at insurance companies. It's because THAT'S HOW INSURANCE WORKS.

The amount of times Wemby just standing under the basket detured Bulls drives to the bucket tonight is staggering.

He is a bad bad man.
Victor Wembanyama has his SIXTH career game with 5+ threes & 5+ blocks, extending his record for most such games in NBA history.

I dunno what you can do about Wemby.

Moving MLS fall/spring is a bad idea for little gain.

Its kind of amazing that all the things people say about Bears head coaches when it's time to fire them also apply to Chuck Schumer.

He lacks the fire and passion to do the job properly. He's bad at clock management. He's an awful playcaller....

Chuck Schumer is the Marc Trestman of Senators.
80% of Democratic voters want a new leader in the Senate.

Does that matter at all to Democratic senators?

okay, so, with Dems successfully keeping anyone up in 2026 for voting for this turd let's take a look at who's up in 2026 anyway:

1. Cory Booker - apparently involved behind the scenes, constantly looking for bipartisanship. I don't dislike him personally but he doesn't have what we need. Primary.

The betrayal I feel about Dick Durbin is deep and cutting. But not surprising.
November 10, 2025 at 2:20 AM
Neither does Durban.
He doesn't have voice mail in his DC office. Of course. Tim Kaine, so pro life, he's willing to let you die from lack of health care.

Chuck Schumer is doing this because he is sabotaging the emergence of a Democratic Party that actually promises real results for working people, in order to protect his phony job and his billionaire friends

I will not support a deal that does nothing to make health care more affordable.

We are in a health care emergency. A simple one-year extension of these tax credits would cost less than Donald Trump’s $40 billion bailout for Argentina.

A vote for this bill is a mistake.

Government is shut down. Chaos in airports. 42 million going hungry. 24 million face skyrocketing healthcare costs. Economy in turmoil. And the president of the United States is in the Fox broadcast booth calling plays for a football game.

Trump administering an oath of allegiance to the Constitution is ironic in general but in DC in particular I’m not sure what other response you’d expect.

This wouldn’t be anywhere near enough to offset ACA increases. Trump will gloat and push the next sadistic policy, the public will still be in a world of hurt, and the only ones who will (might?) come out ahead will be insurance companies.

That involves sending federal money into FSAs instead of insurance companies" www.wsj.com/politics/pol...
Republicans Pitch Alternative to ACA Extension to End Government Shutdown
A proposal by GOP senators to send money directly to consumers’ health accounts rather than to insurance companies showed signs of breaking a stalemate on negotiations.

Senitor Durbin's voucemail box is, of course, only available during business hours.
Sounds like the squishes in the senate caucus are ready to pull the plug with no ACA changes. This is real. If you want to register your opinion you shld call yr senator in the next hour. They not only want to reopen w/nothing. They want cover from their colleagues who still want to hold out.
