The GOAT Award goes to Mary Bruce of ABC NEWS! What she did today was totally and unequivocally awesome and amazing! I saw it live. ABC should give her a goddamn raise for this.

Massie: “[Speaker Johnson is] trying to say the rich, powerful men who flew to Epstein Island are the victims now. The only way a ‘Christian man’ can stand up there and sell a lie like that is if he’s already decided in his head that protecting them is somehow okay.”

Mike Johnson says he's talked to Thune & he's "very confident that when this moves forward in the process - if & when it is processed in the Senate, which is no certainty - they will take the time methodically to do what we have not been allowed to do in the House. To amend this discharge petition."

You might not have caught what just happened on the Senate floor, but the Senate just “deemed as passed” the Epstein resolution.

That means as soon as it arrives from the House, it automatically passes the Senate (with no amendments) and heads to the President’s desk.

Wow.

Trump has called on House Republicans to release the Epstein Files.

What about the Senate? Does he think Republican Senators should vote to release the files? We he veto it?

Maybe someone should ask!

It doesn't require an act of Congress to release the Epstein files. All it takes is a phone call or, in Trump's case, an angry and half-incomprehensible post on his online fraud platform.

I honestly don’t think this threat means as much as it once did. It seems to me that the people he endorses tend to lose now.

THIS JUST IN...

The Oval Office occupant can release the files now.

He could have released them on January 20, 2025.

He doesn't need Congress to do anything.

“I’d release my taxes but they’re under audit.”

“I’d release the Epstein files but they’re part of an active investigation.”

“You’ll have it in two weeks.”

America is tired of the excuses and lies.

Trump knows they're not going to share evidence in an ongoing investigation. So what does he do? He orders the DOJ to investigate Epstein-Dem connections to effectively lock away the files, then urges release of the files to create the false image of innocence. Don't be fooled.

Coons on Epstein files: "My hunch is that AG Bondi, having just been ordered on social media by the president to open an investigation into a series of high-profile Dems, will promptly say, 'No, there's an ongoing investigation, we can't disclose any of this,' and the president will back that up."

So they must've scrubbed most of him out by now. He was just buying time until it could be sanitized in his favor.
OR - The "investigations" will be an excuse to say, "sorry, we can't."

He summoned Boebert to the Situation Room to pressure her to withdraw her name. Called Mace. Threatened Massie and Greene. Now he knows it will pass and he’s trying to save face. But he also knows it may die in the senate and DOJ intends to cite a new “pending investigation” to block it.

Trump is now claiming he has “nothing to hide” and that Republicans should vote to release the Epstein files.

The only reason Congress is voting on the Epstein files is because Trump and the DOJ have been blocking their release.
