In 1977, designer Edith Head--the direct inspiration for Edna Mode from The Incredibles--designed this outfit for Blitzen, a champion Siberian husky owned by Phyllis Castleton of Anchorage. Head was in town for a benefit premiere for the film Airport '77. #alaskahistory #alaska

The history of Hollywood's Golden Age is linked with the story of Europeans fleeing the rise of fascism in the 1930s. This is especially true for some of the film composers of that era. None more so than the great Franz Waxman, whose birthday we celebrate today (1906-1967).
