I wouldn't dare call myself a "history nerd", but I think it's important to have at least a passing or occasional interest in it. It's equal parts horrifying and fascinating, especially when looking at concurrent events.

Honestly once people grabbed hold of the "no ethical consumption" phrase, it did way more favors for nihilistic doomer dickheads than for the people that do their best do do different/as best as they can with what they have.
