For the record, I love the SM57, I just get bored with using it on snare and I really don’t like what happens if the drummer hits the hi hat too hard and it bleeds too much into the snare mic.

I always get slightly annoyed when I have to use an SM57 on snare and then it (of course) sounds really good.
