Well done on your excellent paper @merrimanniamh.bsky.social @rosespenfold.bsky.social et al! (My next @bmj.com opinion about dementia includes hip fracture- the diagnosis with the biggest use of NHS beds. Just to give context about the huge importance of your delirium/ cognitive impairment study)

While most identified HFRs recommended delirium and/or cognitive assessment, there was considerable variation in methods of assessment and documentation.

Greater standardisation in data items and their collection could improve international comparability and patient care.

It shows that many things can predict your chances of cardiac arrest. Unsurprisingly, this includes the amount of champagne you drink, which is doubtless a marker of wealth.

⁉️ Think it's impossible to achieve high rates of DELIRIUM screening?

Think again:

⭐️ 91% completion of 4AT

⭐️ hip fracture patients

⭐️ whole of Scotland data

Why do most #dementia charities show such little awareness of #delirium?

It's something that needs to change.

See attached for an open letter to CEOs of dementia charities.
