We now offer Dyslexic Edition books alongside our adult Large Print fiction books. 🔎📚

What makes them Dyslexic Editions? They look like regular large print books, but are printed on a different colour paper to make reading more accessible.

You can find them at the end of our Large Print section.

Exeter Labour’s #GreatGetTogether celebrating having more in common than that which divides us. We decorated the Jo Cox plaque in Belmont Park with bunting - which everyone wrote their favourite part of our community on - and hung up hearts with messages for Jo ❤️ @jocoxfoundation.bsky.social

Sadly we didn’t get the result we hoped for here but I’m so pleased for James Cookson, our new Labour councillor for Topsham.

I’ve learnt so much standing for election for the first time and pushed myself out of my comfort zone. Thank you to everyone who helped and supported ❤️

Hi Bex, yes absolutely! I’d like to see firmer action on pesticide use and the contracts given to conduct “weed sprays” - Exeter City Council ended the routine use of glyphosate in 2023 and I’d like to see DCC adapt this too. I take a lot of comfort in nature and want to protect the local landscapes

One of the reasons why I’m standing to be a Devon County Councillor is because I want to use my personal experiences to help others.

As a young person with experience of SEND issues, I’m ready to be a voice for struggling children and families waiting to get support in.

I was really honoured to welcome
@marycreagh.bsky.social our Nature Minister to St David’s and Haven Banks yesterday to talk about the positive an impact Labour govt is having on our community.

Nature is a huge personal comfort for me, so I will always stand up for our beautiful landscapes

Big campaign afternoon in St David’s and Haven Banks today with @steveracemp.bsky.social and special guests @chriscurtis94.bsky.social and @benbradshaw.bsky.social

I used to shadow Ben on the doorstep when I first started canvassing so having him campaign for me as a candidate was a special moment!

☀️ beautiful sunny day talking to residents in #Pennsylvania for @teamlabouruk.bsky.social candidate Tony Badcott, and in #HavenBanks for @roselell.bsky.social, who will both make fantastic DCC councillors.

We were also joined by special guests @benbradshaw.bsky.social & @chriscurtis94.bsky.social!

Really poor from Exeter Reform and their chair. It’s not hard to disagree with someone politically without resorting to unnecessary personal attacks. Every candidate who stands is a human being, which is something a lot of people apparently forget. I have a lot of respect for my fellow candidates.
Reform UK’s Ed Hill Branch Chair Exeter and candidate for Topsham, Devon.

Mocking a Green Party activist for trying to canvass his house. Obviously doesn’t believe in privacy / GDPR. Here he has published the pic taken from his door camera just to try to make a joke.

And he trained as a lawyer.

NHS day of action yesterday with @rachelhart.co.uk and Ellen (alongside usual county council campaigning) getting the message out about @rthonwesstreeting.bsky.social fixing the NHS.

Shift workers here are facing safety concerns because of Tory-led DCC switching the streetlights off...

This week, Devon County Council will dim 80% of their streetlights. It comes at the expense of resident's safety - as a young woman who walks to the train station for work early, it will impact how safe I feel when walking. There has been no consultation with community groups or businesses.

"Adolescence" is creating important conversations about the violent content seen by boys and young men and the devastating consequences that can have.

It is so important that our violence against women and girls strategy works with schools to tackle pervasive misogyny.

One of my undergrad projects focused on the impact of the manosphere and digital radicalisation of young men. The research really shocked me as to how widespread these attitudes were, with influencers like Andrew Tate exploiting credible concerns for young men www.theguardian.com/tv-and-radio...

Last night I voted to ban fire and rehire, a welcome part of Labour’s Employment Rights Bill.

This morning I spoke about Tory-led Devon County Council’s use of bully-boy fire and rehire tactics for 820+ workers.

I urge DCC to work collaboratively to come to a good conclusion with their employees.

Jumped into the sea for International Women's Day yesterday, raising money for the amazing @refugecharity.bsky.social! 1 in 4 women in England and Wales experience domestic abuse and it's a cause really close to my heart, so being cold for 5 minutes was worth it.

Wild beavers have legally returned to English waterways for the first time in four centuries.

Alex Thomson explains why the release of these remarkable engineers into the wetlands of Purbeck in Dorset is so important.
