Also when you are working to debug a code, remember:
1) stop & explain what and why you are going to change them.
2) stop & observe the changes to see what happened. Even if something does not change, still take a sec to review why the change did not do what you expected.

Observe, Think, Change

day 67 of #100daysOfCode

Today I asked for help with the Z-index from @zeroutopia.bsky.social & @roseaboveit.bsky.social Together we de*bugs*ed the bunny! I learned about how to go slowly back through the problem and isolate the issue, then slow pick apart the options to solve the problem.

day 42 of #100daysOfCode

Oh my gosh, I am happy with how my project turned out- but I am so ready to go on to the next project. I got through some more failures, but found a beginner mistake: putting an unnecessary rule in the top of the CSS instead of where it needed to go. That is how we learn.

Day15 of #100daysOfCode!
Learning so much more of CSS and HTML. I did not realize that you could reference your code from other sections of code. Mostly I learned today that accessibility is going to be something I want to really influence my coding practice.

Day 11 of #100daysOfCode

Sick today so @roseaboveit.bsky.social sent me over to @greaterthancode.bsky.social podcast. Listened to episode 5 about learning new code! Super helpful advice- balancing in-depth or breadth of languages for mental load.

Only one hour of coding today but kept it in my mind! The rest of the day was dedicated to model trains- the similarity is knowing what you want to do, planning, and using your tools to create the desired effect.

I did start on a new project in freecodecamp though.

My friend Chicory is so hard core. Well done!
Day 4/100 - started trying to create a cute cafe menu, but accidentally muscled my way through the ending quiz! Now I know what I am studying for. I am proud that I completed the certification! I am going back and studying in order.

New research has found
that the spike protein
from Covid
localizes in the skull’s bone marrow
and that this may explain
Covid brain fog,
so the next time you are told
that Covid is all in your head
reply by explaining
that more specifically
Covid is in the skull’s bone marrow.

Occasional reminder that there’s no, “it’s too late, its over” for anthropogenic climate change. Every molecule of CO2 that doesn’t go into the atmosphere makes a difference. Preventing 0.1 degree of warming makes a difference. Every bit of climate resilience we build together makes a difference.

we don’t need climate action just for future generations, we need it now.

FYI, Mask Bloc LA is getting masks to "most of the evac centers and are making regular drops." Support/contact here: linktr.ee/maskblocla

I'm glad people are getting support in the moment, but seeing AirBnb, GoFundMe, and Planet Fitness step up where the state has failed us, in these moments where that failure becomes so clear, is an indictment of this whole neoliberal nightmare.

The power of capitalist propaganda is amazing because not only is it making the planet less and less livable, it's also rewarding fewer and fewer people. And yet millions still support it.

I did listen and expand my concepts and vocabulary listening to youtu.be/zOjov-2OZ0E?...

I’m convinced the “do audiobooks count as reading?” argument all derives from those mid-90s summer reading pizza challenges.

Folks - we’re all in our 30s and 40s now. It’s no longer a competition.

Go buy your favorite pie with your adult money and let people enjoy books however they want.

I'm someone with the privilege to isolate during this pandemic. Have been basically non-stop since 2020.

So far when I start feeling antsy, and jealous... it isn't very long before we head into another wave.

So... in case that pattern holds... maybe restart wearing a mask. Skip this wave.

Media & mass are my favorite subjects, so I dropped everything this morning to watch @hankgreen.bsky.social remind us: "Populism is not an ideology. It is a marketing strategy." Wonderful lessons here. Then, to my great surprise, delight, and honor, I found myself in his bibliography. Thanks, Hank!

is to remember
that we are still in a pandemic.
