Thanks @zacharyellison.bsky.social for sharing my latest piece, “Advocating for Ava”, about my friend who was evicted in Venice, and all the housing which is supposed to be available to her…but is not available for anyone!

Now is a great time to support @roof.bsky.social who is again facing a sweep as an unhoused person in Los Angeles. Please support my colleague in her attempt to stay in her shelter.

The latest with @roof.bsky.social on the failure to address homelessness in Los Angeles. Will an evidentiary hearing and a receivership change the dynamic? There are so many empty beds already in a system gone awry.

Rick Caruso has named other board members to his nonprofit with close ties to the Trump administration, including Palantir co-founder Joe Lonsdale.

Lonsdale also started the Cicero Institute, a Texas think tank that develops anti-camping bills which have been passed by several states
There were other red flags in Caruso's announcement. Joe Lonsdale, co-founder of Palantir and mentee of Peter Thiel, is on the Steadfast LA board. You may have seen Palantir and Peter Thiel in the news lately.

On Joe Rogan, Caruso name-checked Lonsdale as "one of the biggest thinkers around"

Why did LA bulldoze an Echo Park encampment during a rain storm?
Mayor Karen Bass’s Inside Safe operations can leave unhoused residents even more vulnerable to the elements.
