Dog loving movie director/writer/composer. Love my wife, my kids and my grandson. I can talk you to death about movies, politics, history and fantasy football. I'm currently in post production on my new film LUCKY STRIKE about the Battle of the Bulge.
Screening my brand new film about the second world war for the first time in a proper American theater for a big audience, including several veterans. I am obviously quite nervous… But also energized. Three chairs for the amazing scott eastwood in the performance of his life.

One of the pleasures of writing THE GREAT MANN was in revealing how the Black actors who were seen as subservient on screen were delightfully, subversive off screen 😎

If Trump had been elected Pope as he wanted… What name would he have taken?

had a wonderful dinner catching up with my pal Noah. Right now I would say he is the hottest man in Entertainment. And deservedly so. How great is. #thepitt?

serious question to all those of you who say you are considering leaving the country because of the damage being done by Donald Trump: what is your red line? What is the event that would make you pull the trigger? Martial law? The cancellation of elections? What is it?

as a man who has directed a well received film about the GWOT, I'll tell you WARFARE absolutely humbles me. What a stunning film. Co directed by my former military advisor Ray Mendoza. Our veterans are worthy of so much more than what is being taken away from them right now. This film honors them.

It is an absolutely marvelous book. So cool that you are a fan. Can imagine what a great movie. This one would be?
Really immersed in THE GREAT MANN which is a Great Gatsby retelling from a Black perspective set in post war Hollywood in the famous Sugar Hill neighborhood. Lots of stars drop in and the writing is glorious. @prhlibrary.bsky.social #EWGC

I don't quite get Bluesky. I've been trying for months to get traction and have only 235 followers. I have thousands and thousands elsewhere. I get absolutely no engagement here. I must be doing something wrong. Any advice?

Among these men imprisoned and sent to a super prison in El Salvador is an innocent man. We know that because the Trump administration conceded, they made a mistake by deporting Kilmar Garcia... and now they say they can't get them back. What a disgusting inept administration. How brazenly cruel.

it breaks my heart one of our most distinguished institutions is bending the knee to our president… And removing the autobiography of Martin Luther King from its library, as well as a biography of Jackie Robinson in addition to about 900 other books.

My three month old grandson Zev is for the first time watching one of his grandfather's movies. He's among the first in the country to see Lucky strike starring scott eastwood. I'm sure he'll be posting his review soon.

tomorrow is the very first screening of my World War II film Lucky strike! Here I am with two of my stars, Scott eastwood and Kwame PATTERSON. Great dudes and great actors. I'm a little bit nervous but super fucking excited as well. We are real proud of this one!

I have made"oners" a staple of many of my films, especially OUTPOST. But I am humbled by the genius work done on the new Netflix series Adolesence. Many people see this as gimmickry… But when done as beautifully and as immersive as it is here, nothing can put you more in the time and place. WOW

Rham Emmanuel may be the answer for the Democrats. Because the current leadership is sorely fucking lacking. he is one tough son of a bitch. he has an impeccable résumé is his being Jewish a problem? I really don't know. Who would be your candidate to put at the top of the Democratic party?

episode seven of Paradise might be among the best episodes of television I've ever seen. What a phenomenal performance by James Marsden. Geez Louise, how fucking riveting was that? What are your favorite episodes of television ever?

thank you for this piece, Danielle. It was my very, very first movie. Such a tiny thing. Some reviews were raves and some were butcheries. but one thing is certain is that we got a lot of things right in this movie… Including that Donald Trump would be running for president and likely be the winner.
