Since I’ve seen it come up a few times this week, part of me wants to write a Complexity Mode about why multiplayer-focused games are almost never in contention for Game of the Year.

But this desire is undercut by the fact that I fundamentally do not care and never have.

Literally the whole reason I’ve been skeptical of Xbox’s hybrid pc/console strategy is the fact that anyone could make one, so there’d be no reason to buy Microsoft’s over…say…something put out by Valve.

And now here we are.
Big day at @digitalfoundry.bsky.social today! We have gone hands on with the new Steam Frame, Steam Machine, and Steam Controller. This stub page has the highlights of What You Need To Know and links to my MUCH longer features on all three devices. (I'm very proud of our work on all of this!)

I absolutely love watching people play my game and I think HikoSake’s playthrough is really highlighting some of New Meat’s best elements in terms of build expression and risk/reward. Love to see all my systems working! #indiedev #indiegame

My preview-verdict on Kirby Air Riders is that it’s an endlessly charming, stylish and smart update to the GameCube original, and a lot of people are going to FUCKING HATE it.

Rarely does a game make me say "This feels like something I would come up with" quite like Q-Up, a parody esports game where every match is determined by a coin flip.

While not all the comedy lands, it's surprisingly engaging for a game with no gameplay.

Sick of long queues, unfair matchups, and arbitrary reflex tests? Try Q-UP, the coin flipping eSport. It's one part clicker, one part multiplayer strategy game, one part demented capitalism simulator,...

Okay, as silly as the Nintendo Store app is the fact that you can also buy merch through it is kind of cute.

It’s not a monopoly when, completely independent of your actions, all your competition sucks ass.
More than half of developers feel they rely too heavily on Steam to distribute their games, with 72% believing the platform has a monopoly on the PC games market

Rather than making the percent chances lie to you, I did the exact opposite in New Meat and made the percent chances you’re shown the exact value that’s rolled on.

Once the game calculates you have an 87% chance to succeed, it’s literally just a d100 roll-under. No numbers but what you see.

Sighing and setting the signboard back to “[0] Days Since a Professional Review of Pokemon Z-A Has Said There’s No On-Screen Indicator for the Cooldown on Using Items in Battle Even Though It’s Right There on the Bottom of the Screen.”
This week's episode of Fully Ramblomatic is now available, with @yahtzeecroshaw.bsky.social reviewing Pokémon Legends: Z-A.

Considering some of my favorite genres are roguelikes, kart racers and collectathon platformers, half the professional reviews of games I’m interested start with “As someone who fucking hates these kinds of games and has my entire life…” so this one just feels par for the course.
Wild opening paragraph, maybe you shouldn't be the one reviewing a Warriors game then

Reminded of the time when Mario Kart made a track set in Los Angeles and, out of all the cool landmarks our city has, decided to include the freaking oil field next to the airport.

Having played more Hades II, I think one of the biggest things that keeps me from getting into these games is the bosses.

They're all given a million health and tuned to be like "No, you WILL experience ALL the phases of this fight EVERY time. Your build can NOT make this go faster."
November 3, 2025 at 4:50 AM
Wow, they got so many locations from the show.

Halloween's over so now I guess it's okay to spoil it.

As some of you may have discovered, The Hallowed Update introduced New Meat's very first NEW WEAPON! The first one ever added to the game since its original launch, complete with its own unique upgrade tree and special skill.
