I’ve been enjoying the Strava sub preview, if only because it’s a break from the usual Garmin trash-talking.
It wasn’t the rain that slowed me down… it was picking my way through the piles of toads and rat snakes on the waterlogged trail at 5:30am with only a headlamp.

Complimented a random dude in one of our local dinner spots on his Whalers hat, and suddenly I’m invited to join his hockey beer league of fellow Olds.
I played men’s roller derby for five years, so rough sports don’t particularly worry me; but I’ve been ice skating only once *ever*.

- Started my run way too late in the day, still in the woods when it got dark
- No headlamp
- Humid, so sweaty
And it was the best I felt physically on a run since last fall, before the tendinitis and respiratory illnesses happened. I loved running like the old me.

Finally won at Final Girl - Reiko vs Hans the Butcher. There’s a lot you can do to a bad guy when you bring an axe and a bear trap. He revived with a single heart on his token, and I was fortunate to still have a weak attack card to give him a tiny poke.
