A new project has arrived on the workbench. This is my prototype controller for investigating hardware and OS/software-side requirements for an indie arcade cabinet I'm working on for a client in SF. #indiedev #gamedev #arcade #pinball

One downside of doing client work is I don't have the flexibility to post pics and vids of the stuff I'm working on. So you'll just have to take my word that this shit I'm making is 🤌

One advantage (in a long list of advantages) to being a maker is when your pop-up sink stopper gets jammed you can rebuild it.

I do a subtle internal eye roll when I see a _writer_ repost without adding a little something about why they're reposting.

I voted for the first time yesterday since becoming a Canadian citizen. And even tho it amounted to checking a single box in an early election designed to ensure victory for the incumbent, I was excited to be part of the process. 🇨🇦 ❤️

In recent months I've been developing my arts practice by creating physical pieces using various materials. I wanted to make something special for my cousin's new baby, so I'm creating this name puzzle that I'll give to her when we meet in a couple of weeks. Here's a few pics of the progress so far.

I found this USB meter at my local electronics shop. Provides a view into what's happening during the charging process like USB voltage, current consumption and capacity estimate. Fun little gadget that may come in handy when testing USB powered electronic projects.

A while back we caught this idea to make a tamagotchi like app where you take care of augmented reality cats by feeding them, giving them toys to play with and a warm bed to sleep in. You buy better food, toys & beds that would improve their well being and each one came with a custom animation.

As I transition from that other platform to Bluesky, I've been looking thru my old posts and getting all nostalgic about past projects, explorations and learning. Here's something I was working on in 2021 while learning #threejs

Starting my 3D printing journey by physicalizing one of my 3D models.

This is just a prototype to see what's possible. Made quite a few mods to the original Blender project so I could print individual parts, then assembled with glue.

The next version will be 25% smaller & articulation.
