Superb observation by the SWOT altimetry satellite of the July 30 #tsunami. Data acquired ~1h after the M8.8 Kamchatka earthquake show the waves propagating across the Pacific with a great agreement with @rocangel.bsky.social's model!

Full video of the tsunami in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, Kamchatka, Russia, following the 8.7 earthquake. Wave seems incoming and a few meters at least.

The Ocean around us (In Iceland) is boiling! This month (May 2025) has exceed the number of high intensity Marine Heat Waves, I guess the nice weather comes with some price, hopefully this is not boiling the fish in the nearby sea... @haskoliislands.bsky.social
