Apart from the video you've shared, only one news outlet (Turkish) is covering this. And one Facebook post.

Well played, Canada.
Showing how it's done.
And I bet they actually get to take delivery of these ones. We bought the emperor's new clothes version of subs. Can't see em! Apparently ours are made of unobtainium.
'straya on top 🥳
Canada has announced it will buy up to a dozen conventionally-powered subs for around $CAD60 billion ($63 billion) – a fraction of what Australia has already begun paying for fewer nuclear subs – despite having a much longer coastline to patrol. satpa.pe/e784ucf

Good grief.

In an ideal world Andy, yes!
Sensible people would listen to scientists and not lobbyists. But here we are!

It's quite the disconnect between the political class and the people.
If this truly was about healing and unity, the ideal candidate for the job would have been a Rabbi of high esteem of the majority, and to have left divisive politics out.

It's awful for us from an intellectual point of view. But such a tragedy for his family to be denied his presence.
Jon, Cathy, Fiona and First Dog have been my favourite political cartoonists for a while now, with an honourable mention to Kaz Cooke.

Just discovered $3 billion in extra nuclear sub spending between May and December $15.4B → $18.6B

Where's the $3 billion going? Defence: "Take it on notice"

That's enough money to build 10,000s public homes but for Defence it's pocket change they lost down back of the couch.

We need to amplify witness reportage.
Apart from MSM and the state and federal govts telling us not to believe eyewitness accounts, the most stupid take I have heard so far today was that Muslims should not have been praying in the street, because this is Australia, mate. That didn't start it.

It's just insane Sally.
I have yet to read in any media where fracking hasn't fucked up the land and water where it's done. Farmers have had their aquafers become unusable for their stock; paddocks become wasteland. It's a disgusting practice.
Leave the gases where they're trapped.

Israel is erasing Palestinians in every way they can:
ethnic cleansing
detention and torture
destroying infrastructure
denial of aid, and
thermobaric weapons.

When President Herzog visits Parliament today, any MP or Senator who attends is complicit with genocide.

The award-winning cartoonist Jon Kudelka died in Hobart on Sunday, aged 53. Over 30 years, his work resisted the polarisation of the contemporary Australian media.

If fracking begins in the Kimberley, it could damage a sacred river

If fracking begins in the Kimberley, it could damage a sacred river
Fracking exploration wells are likely to proceed in the Kimberley. Given how much more we know about the risks of fracking, this seems dangerous.

I notice in the Courier Mail today they've gone completely quiet on the Palestine protests.
Nothing in the first 5 pages

Do they know they've all fucked up?

Never forget that Jewish-Australian and former IDF soldier Avi Yemini proudly called himself "A proud Jewish Nazi" before describing how he blew Palestinian children's heads off for fun.

No one says anything about that, nor deports his sorry racist arse back to Israel.
Israel’s president arrives in Australia amid tight security
Thousands of officers and rooftop snipers are deployed as Herzog begins his three-day state visit aimed at strengthening Australia–Israel ties and supporting the Jewish community.

Last night, watching a couple of minutes of Ch 7's news, I nearly choked on my tea as whoever it was speaking (an alleged journalist) spouted the spin about the violence of the protestors (apparently someone copping a thumping had used their teeth against kevlar).
Eyewitness videos say otherwise.
