When I was in the city last Mon for the protest - walking to Town Hall - I was struck yet again by how many people are sleeping rough on our streets. Iโ€™ll never not be shocked by this.

Every homeless person in an affluent country is a sign of political failure. Shame!! #auspol

Heโ€™s complicit.

Herzog has departed, leaving behind anger and less social cohesion, while politicians, justices and NSW police have many questions to answer.

Capital Pains: Iโ€™ll eat humble pie if the PM actually does something substantive on our tilted tax system
Thereโ€™s never been a better time for Labor to scale back the capital gains tax discount. Could this actually be the start of a new era for Albanese?

And as if Muslims need the permission of authorities to pray in public.

Do Christians need to seek permission to pray in public? No.

Do Jews need to seek permission to pray in public? No.

Don't you just love the implication that NSW Police officers need to be told not to abuse Muslims at prayer. The implication that assaulting Muslims at prayer is routine.

There is a common thread of foreign interference in our politics. Stunning that an elected politician of a foreign nation is invited to soothe an Australian religious community rather than a head Rabbi of their religion. If the Catholic community was impacted you'd invite the Pope not Meloni.

Excellent description of the state of the #public sector hierarchies.
Renee Leon did nothing to reveal the scheme's unlawfulness, and deserved to lose her job. She is one of the authors of the Targeted Compliance Framework, which has unlawfully cancelled welfare payments to hundreds of thousands. If Kathryn Campbell deserves no place in public life, neither does Leon.
#Robodebt saga continuesโ€ฆ. "Surely the fact Renรฉe Leon lost her
job after finally revealing the scheme's unlawfulness while Kathryn Campbell was twice given new prestigious appointments after years of actively avoiding consideration of lawfulnessโ€ฆ" wrote Podger @themandarin.bsky.social
