This platform is so weird and I don't know how to use it, so I'm just going to start archiving the games I've beaten this year with a blurb or two of my thoughts.
(I'm not used to reviewing games in less than 300 characters, so this will be an experiment if nothing else 🤷♂️)

The biggest problem I've always had with the Metroid fanbase is that they want every new game to just be glorified ports of Super and Prime 1.

Castlevania is still the coolest idea anyone ever came up with. big ol house party for monsters and Dracula is the host, a simple overarching plotline that connects all the games together that's easy to understand, and a sub weapon gameplay mechanic that got better and better over time

After sharing my top 10 favorites across all of Nintendo's handhelds, I've been dreading this one.

Playing through Soul Calibur 2 on NSO has only strengthened my belief that it is the biggest, most egregious franchise omission in Smash Ultimate.
It was the first/only time Nintendo allowed one of its characters to cross over in a fighting game. BY NAMCO.

And yeah, man. Yeah, I get it.
EVERY RPG I play, I brute force my favorite party members into breaking tartwork. The story doesn't work for me otherwise.
DQVIII was also great at this, but XI seems to have perfected it.
