Which color catches your eye more: a vibrant pink tree or a sunny yellow one? I'm feeling a bit uncertain today and would love your input!

**Speak Up, Brother**
*Acrylic on paper (approximately A4 size)*

I’m not much of a portrait painter, but I think I captured his eyes well. I created this a few years ago after my brother underwent surgery for bilateral hematomas. We’ll never know how that happened.

This painting has long since sold, quite a number of years ago in fact. Acrylic on 8x8” bd.

I ordered just a few oil sticks in different colours to try out. I usually work with acrylics and sometimes use dry media like graphite and charcoal. I plan to use the oil sticks as final layers over my acrylics. Any tips from #mixedmediaartists before I start?

Can you believe its almost February and I haven't even dived into #januarty yet?
Time to change that!
Speaking of new beginnings, l've got this piece that I started last year, and it's been quietly calling out to me from the studio. I think it's finally time to give it the attention it deserves!

Almost done! I prefer working on loose canvas because I like a hard substrate for scratching into the paint. Next move is to stretch it and I'll let it percolate around the studio a while.

One thing I am looking forward to today is getting back into my studio, I have deadlines, but I am procrastinating a tad this morning… what do I need, a ritual or a kick up the jacksie?

Bittersweet is the only way to describe yesterday, our wee foster puppies had their first meet and greets and of course, they were snapped up they are adorable. So we had to say goodbye right there and then.
