I remember hearing how Brando thought it lent more credence to his characters if they were always searching for the words to say as he was reciting their lines, so having cue cards nearby with hints was one of his demands. I think he just didn't want to have to memorize his lines.

Andrew finally being arrested has put another spotlight on the fact that royal correspondents are not fit for purpose. They are NOT journalists. They are paid sycophants who try to convince us to be good little serfs. It is more akin to LARPing than any actual journalism.
