One tactic Musk has used in the past is salting messages. Each person gets a slightly different copy of e.g. an email that he thinks will leak, so he can identify the leaker by the version.

I’d like to say thank you to @anneapplebaum.bsky.social for deleting a tone deaf comment about the TikTok ban, to which I was carefully writing a reply. I wasted about 1hr, communication is not my best skill, only to find you deleted it vs leaving it with an apology edited into the original post.
