It is "interesting" that Brexit is being presented to Americans as a cautionary tale when the main lesson from it is that you can impose a massive economic blow to a country and 10 years later that blow is barely discussed and the government is commitred to not undone it.

Remember Fiona Hill? She’s now sounding the alarm again: “We’re definitely on a path toward full-on state repression. There’s no question about it. I’ve thought about this for an extraordinarily long time.” When Fiona speaks, we should all listen.

I have covered presidential politics for 40 years. This was the most juvenile display by a President and Vice President I have ever seen. Other presidents treated their enemies with more respect. This is a low point and a dark day for the US. Totally embarrassing.

Emergency London European summit on Sunday takes on even greater significance to support Ukraine in face of US treachery.

While an invite has been neither sought by, nor offered to, Ireland, I do wish Irish Government would attend.

“The former leading power of the West can no longer be relied upon.”

“Now it's up to the Europeans”

“The worst case is now the new normal”

I'm not convinced by this. The large AI infrastructure builds are still necessary.

I'm more curious why China is trying to convince the West that we don't need the most advanced tech to develop AI.

My cynicism suggests this is a PsyOp to weaken the US' view of dependency on Taiwan chip production.
DeepSeek’s extraordinary success has sparked fears that the United States’ most advanced AI products may no longer be able to compete against cheaper Chinese alternatives.

Baltic shadow tankers:

Broken down EVENTIN is highly likely safely anchored outside Sassnitz.

Often breaking down JAZZ made it past the Great Belt bridge and has not yet caused an environmental disaster.

Still another 37 (all sanctions) or 6 (sanctions purist, only EU) chances present!

Some notes about #tankers and #oil sanctions.
Will this time be different?

1. Urals price re Brent moves with US/G7 measures & with Russian counter-measures.

Note closing of differential by mid-2024 => implementation of sanctions evasions measures + Red Sea embargo

This is not a helicopter boarding of EAGLE S, but likely very similar.

It's from a new Finnish TV-series "Konflikti" showing a dramatized attack on Finland.

I would very much like to watch it. Do you know about it with any kind of subtitles?

That's me out the gate.

My sincerest gratitude goes to 2 Bde, CIS (AR), who are arguably the most impactful unit in the Defence Forces.

I enjoyed my 15 years in the Army Reserve, I would recommend Reserve Service to anyone looking to develop themselves.

Yi Peng 3 is still closely guarded by German and Danish naval units of varying sort. There has been active RIBs a few times last days, but unclear if it means anything.

Russia is piling on the manpower to set the conditions for possible negotiations once Trump arrives in office.

The pressure on Ukraine is intense. This is an infantry fight and Russia not only has the manpower advantage, but it also has a high tolerance for taking casualties.

Grim, indeed.
This fall has been grim for Ukraine.

According to our assessment, between 1 September and 30 November, the Russians captured over 1600 km2 in Ukraine, and retook roughly 500 km2 in Kursk. The rate of advance accelerated every month, despite the Russians suffering heavy losses. 1/
