I love this because it's a twofer. Not only will it (hopefully) help with the housing shortage, but it could encourage remote work. There might be a little less pressure to "return to the office" if things are a little less apocalyptic for commercial real estate owners.

"You either die a hero or live long enough to see yourself become a villain" is a silly saying because it's inherently unfalsifiable.

Someone could live 100 years as a hero then die peacefully in his sleep, and all you have to say is "well yeah he just didn't live long enough to become a villain."

Trek fans tend to enjoy good parodies of their beloved franchise. Just look at the popularity of Galaxy Quest and Lower Decks!
Honestly most Trek fans seem to dig that book, they have decent senses of humor about it. Fortunately!
