I'm reminded of the Salvation Army, who will help you only as long as you're not gay. The people of the book that says I'm an abomination unto their Lord have to prove themselves to me, not the other way around.
In my humble opinion, if we want to push back on the current political culture of trampling on the very concept of civic virtue, we're just gonna have to live with some people tying those virtues to their faith.
