Despite his mild-mannered civility, Bhattacharya is a self-interested extremist who gives cover to anti-vaxxers & promotes policies that will kill people. He will set American health, innovation, & science back for a generation.

He’s not here to reform NIH. He’s here to destroy it.
Trump makes it official: JAY BHATTACHARYA, a co-author of the Great Barrington Declaration, is his pick to lead the National Institutes of Health.

A remarkable turn after Bhattacharya became a public health pariah four years ago, dismissed by the then-NIH director for his "fringe" views.

I have faced fascism before, in this very country. I was one of 120,000 Japanese Americans summarily rounded up and expelled from our homes at gunpoint, all for the crime of looking like the people who bombed Pearl Harbor.

I spent my childhood behind barbed wire. My parents lost everything. 1/

If California covered all its canals and aqueducts with solar, it could generate 13 GW of solar power and save 63 billion gallons of water, enough water for 2 million people & 50,000 irrigated acres. 🔌💡💧

either people specify what they mean when they say “elite” or the term is just meaningless pejorative. both parties are dominated by elites in any conventional sense of what that means! the question is: why are right-wing elites more palatable to voters than liberal ones?

How America Embraced Gender War
Both Trump’s and Harris’s campaigns framed the Presidential election as a contest between men and women. Did the results prove them right?

as long as journalists and pundits act as if they are amateur political strategists & not people trying to understand and tell the truth about the world, they are going to take the implicit view that voters can never be wrong, which then demands endless explanation of their morally blameless choice

Reminder to folks who live in the Pacific time zone: You have less than an hour to vote.

This election is critical. Every vote matters.

You can still head to a polling site & get on line to vote. If you're in line when the polls close, you still have the right to #vote.

My grandmother voting for Kamala Harris.

Born 1918.
2 years old when the 19th Amendment was ratified.
47 when the Voting Rights Act secured her vote.
Will turn 107 on inauguration day.

She’s lived through it all, and she’s damn sure not going back.

Like Musk, I'm a naturalized citizen, and proud of it. If I had engaged in the "concealment of material fact or willful misrepresentation" on the naturalization app., it would be grounds for revocation.

This should at least trigger a review of his app. Not to mention his conversations with Mr. P.
