Nav Canada quasi-retiree. Jets/Bombers/Indie rock.
The better team is pulling away. I feel bad for Milic because he's not getting any help. At least he's not giving up 45 footers.
Contrary to Dan Robertson, the team that deserved a goal got one. The Jets have created almost nothing.

If Comrie gets lit up again tomorrow I'd be inclined to run Milic out there for a few in a row just to see what he's got. EC's a good guy, but he's got no history of being someone that can go night after night in the NHL. We don't know that about Milic yet.

Man, Perfetti can do some things well but he really is a below average finisher.
November 28, 2025 at 11:30 PM
A clean look off the rush = goal. Who knew?
November 28, 2025 at 11:23 PM
The Jets were dead lucky to get out of round 1 last year and were game, but deserved losers in round 2. This team is older, slower, and less skilled. Chevy will never have to answer for it, but the roster composition's on the GM.
#NHLJets (deservedly) trail 1-0 through 20 minutes.

Shots 12-5 for Carolina, who completely carried the play save for a couple decent Winnipeg shifts.

This is not a winning recipe for the visitors.

The Toews line being on-ice for a goal against always feels somewhat over-determined.
November 28, 2025 at 10:38 PM
Carolina's having a pretty easy go of it. The Jets aren't exactly a tough team to chase down on the backtrack.
November 28, 2025 at 10:32 PM
Man, Sawyer is dumb as a post. Miller obviously tripped him.
November 28, 2025 at 10:23 PM
My thought on this is that a) the bottom 2 pairs had some issues, and b) the bottom 3 lines are so bereft of speed and skill that they can't help. It's hard to win when you can only count on 3 forwards to do anything.

Every good chance goes in.

Comrie's a small goalie dropping down long before the shot. Seems like a recipe for failure.
November 27, 2025 at 1:37 AM
Well, that was out of nowhere. Pretty much a must-score moment.
November 27, 2025 at 1:02 AM
Nice pass by Salo. They could use more of that.
November 27, 2025 at 1:01 AM
Washington's a quicker team than the Jets all the time, Gary, not just tonight. I think the real challenge would be to find a team that plays at a slower pace.
November 27, 2025 at 12:57 AM
Washington enters the zone off the rush with speed almost every time. Winnipeg, on the rare occasion when they can get in, do so at a very slow pace. It's hard to watch.
November 27, 2025 at 12:55 AM
Also, we're pretty close to insurmountable lead territory.
The Jets are playing poorly, but it might not matter if your goalie can't get near that puck.

I'm not sure Toews can play with the 3rd pair. Even with Miller they don't pass very well and he can't move well enough to help them down low.
November 27, 2025 at 12:33 AM
2 of Minnesota's top 3 Cs are out. Jaccob Slavin didn't play Friday, and he's only played twice this year. Your roster's lack of talent is going to get exposed without Helle, so maybe ask your GM what he's been up to lately.
#NHLJets Scott Arniel on his inconsistent club through 21 games:

“Let’s start with injuries, alright? Let’s start with injuries. Let’s not sugar coat it. Like everybody else, there’s a lot of injuries happening. We’ve been getting hammered here and we got hammered again tonight."
November 24, 2025 at 12:32 AM
Not that I expect unvarnished truth from Sawyer, but slow teams usually look like they're skating in cobwebs.
November 23, 2025 at 11:31 PM
Nino's had a shit afternoon on the boards.
November 23, 2025 at 11:25 PM
The emphasis on the lack of offence will end up being a broken record by the end of the year, I fear, but I thought the Jets had the least offensive talent of any Presidents' Trophy team I could ever remember, and they lost one of their best 5v5 scorers. I'm not sure how this gets better.
November 23, 2025 at 11:21 PM
Shooters vs. non-shooters is a tough contest.
November 23, 2025 at 11:14 PM
Just sayin'.
The last three President's Trophy winners the following season:

Florida - 30 points fewer
Boston - 26 points fewer
New York - 29 points fewer

I could live with a poorer season if they realized they maxed out last year and tried to re-tool, but they doubled down on old and slow, and here we are.
