The one thing to be noted here beyond the event itself is that it's always worth remembering initial police statements are not necessarily accurate and should be regarded with a degree of caution by the public and media.
The Centre County D.A. has dropped the felony charge against Gavin McKenna, based on video evidence.
Also from the DA: the alleged victim did not lose a tooth or have fractures on both sides of his jaw, as the police stated in a sworn affidavit.

Video evidence in the case against McKenna doesn't support the charge, the Centre County District Attorney's Office said in a media release.

If the only thing he had to do was shoot, he'd be good. His failure as a player is that he hasn't found a sport where he can do that.
