Not a fan of Stancil's "you're not poor, actually" hardheadedness, but he's absolutely right that toxic Tumblr cancel culture shit never went away. These days it is only profitably deployed against those who lack the wherewithal to defend themselves. Young people and naive, well-meaning lefty types.
This game should be intensely familiar to everyone by now. You can either let them lead you around by the nose until they make you into a lunatic, or you can say “No, this is bad-faith ritual abuse and I won’t participate.”

I had no idea how many people have been waiting to do an epic takedown of Noam Chomsky. Literally no indication he has done anything bad other than be near Epstein a few times. Epstein habitually surrounded himself with academics and intellectuals specifically to cultivate a particular image.

I can't help but feel like DSA is totally unprepared to take advantage of times like these. Every reasonable person in the country is mad at both parties right now and DSA has consistently had the best position, yet nobody is even thinking about them.
