I wrote about the dispute be Fidelity Investments and a newish fintech called Pontera. It raises tons of interesting issues about what happens when we leave ordinary Americans at the mercy of the financial services industry for their golden years.

Fidelity faces off against fintech in battle over 401(k) access

People might not know about the extreme level of worry that journalists live with after their story has been published or broadcast. The fear that they got something wrong literally keeps them up at night. Obsessively. Now imagine what it will be like as newsrooms thin out and more errors are made.
As a retired reporter, I can say it's even worse. The few remaining reporters are usually general assignment, because it's too expensive to have a beat reporter who can dig in and follow 1 area. Instead, people with little knowledge of a topic are thrown into the deep end.

My latest on big changes in the #housingmarket / #realestate. Are the so-called "Clear Cooperation" updates from the National Association of Realtors actually in the best interests of buyers and sellers? Roughly 50 comments on my LinkedIn feed would beg to differ. 🏡
As new real estate listings rules take effect, will buyers and sellers benefit?
A new policy that purports to offer more options for homeowners to list their properties for sale may be a step back for the housing market.

This was one - a homeless woman was found dead and frozen last month. I found out from a community member and made an info request to police. Now the community knows. #journalism
