Why is "slap" always the verb that news outlets use for tariffs? It's that and hurricanes slamming.

Does anyone actually use the Friends Clash feature of Duolingo? I think I've had exactly one successful "clash" where both of us participated.
I have to imagine some product manager at Duolingo is really disappointed with the low adoption and trying to figure out what went wrong.
