Why is he so obsessed with the letter X? Does he just think it's like really cool? 😎 👉

It's fun to be a nerd 😊
You can also nest it inside another function like SUM to perform an aggregation on the result without putting the intermediate values in your spreadsheet!

News reports about earthquakes, especially in LA, should always include some context.

Specifically that anything under 4.0 is about as dangerous as the gas after a street taco.

Why is "slap" always the verb that news outlets use for tariffs? It's that and hurricanes slamming.

"The US slapped new tariffs on trade partners as Hurricane Dolores slammed into the Florida coastline."

My favorite profile so far on the Community Brigade. So proud of my brother. This is the kind of action that will save the world.

I know when people use "LFG," its intended meaning is almost never "Looking For Group," but still.

Does anyone actually use the Friends Clash feature of Duolingo? I think I've had exactly one successful "clash" where both of us participated.

I have to imagine some product manager at Duolingo is really disappointed with the low adoption and trying to figure out what went wrong.

I am not saying we shouldn't care.

I am asking why as a society we care so much more about this particular targeted murder than any other.

I'm thinking it's not the actual loss of human life that we care about.

Three words to be very judicious about using, especially when navigating conflict or disagreement:

- should
- but
- just

Each one has more potential to heighten tension than you might realize.

"The common narrative is that kids learn faster than adults, but if you watch any toddler they spend a large portion of the day attempting things that are on the edge of their ability.

How much time have you spent on the edge of your ability today?"

If you weren't sure what kind of star power Taylor Swift has, come see the explosion of people traveling in and out Vancouver and YVR. I've never before seen it even half as busy here as it is right now at 6:30 in the morning after her first concert of the weekend.

I believe that "Sapiens" and "The Anxious Generation" might be the two most important books for understanding the current human condition.

I've been IRL friends with @kepneraptor.bsky.social for a decade or so and I don't know how long I've been following him on his social media accounts that all have the same handle.

I do know that I only noticed this week for the first time the second "p" in that handle. 🤦🏻‍♂️

Ideally, the cost of housing would increase only nominally (with inflation). The real cost of housing your family today would be the same as it was twenty years ago, and will be the same twenty more years from now.

I was singing along to The Flaming Lips this morning and my 2yo son asks, "Daddy what do you realize?"

This led to an explanation, using a pumpkin and my water bottle, of how the rotation of the Earth creates day and night.

My first skeet is to complain that children are told over and over that there's "no gravity in space," which isn't true at all. I'm looking at you, Sesame Street!

Also I can't believe these are called "skeets."
