We're all human, yet around the world minority groups are discriminated, demonised, dehumanised, their rights eroded. This isn't a new. It is predictable. It's also preventable. We strengthen rights and resilience to prevent. @Mariana Goetz

Please don't anyone get sucked into doing a proper legal analysis of this. It will be thrown out immediately for the reservation point Mike notes below. BUT ALSO this is a bad faith effort to use the court as part of the ongoing war between the Sudan govt that filed this & the RSF
Before people get too drawn into this, there is a significant jurisdictional obstacle here for #Sudan: #UAE made a reservation to Article IX when acceding to the #GenocideConvention. In other words, the UAE does *not* consent to #ICJ jurisdiction over Genocide Convention disputes.
New #ICJ case: #Sudan v #UAE based on claim that UAE is unlawfully providing direct support to the RSF, which Sudan accuses of perpetrating #genocide against the Masalit. Sudan seeks provisional measures.

Remarkable. Another genocide case at the #ICJ, as Sudan files case against United Arab Emirates at the International Court of Justice for allegedly violating its obligations under the Genocide Convention by arming the Rapid Support Forces
