Since May 2024, 1,208 people have come forward in our Ukraine pilot project with 804 recognised as survivors of conflict-related sexual violence. 634 already supported, but many more must access urgent measures.

Today marks eight years since Myanmar’s military launched a campaign of mass violence against the Rohingya population in Rakhine State. On 25 August 2017, entire villages were razed, families were torn apart, and civilians raped, killed or subjected to other atrocities.

For the first time, Kenya has awarded reparations to survivors of 2007/08 post-election violence. This is the result of nearly two decades of tireless, survivor-led advocacy. Not luck.

A national reparations policy must follow.
