Ever wanted to see an elderly bisexual woman disembowel an imperialist soldier?

The Dreaming Dead is out now. It’s a queer, dark fantasy novel that follows a notorious bandit as a young adult and much older woman.

About to wrap this up and it is extremely good. Hard recommend.
I’m about 150 pages into Tsumura’s “there’s no such thing as an easy job” and it’s so good so far.
Finished up Elric of Melniboné vol 1. And starting “There’s No Such Thing As An Easy Job” by Kikuko Tsumura, about a woman who does an increasingly surreal series of temp jobs.

Here’s a brief live clip of a new track called “The Languages of Grief”

This whole album is so nostalgic to me and yet it feels really wild this song is 9 years old

It must be terrifying to be a jack-in-the-box. Remember, he doesn't control his own emergence. To him, the world pops inward, a noisy, many-colored beast, until he can push its churning faces out of his dark home

Conan, Blackwater Holylight, and Human Instinct are all playing shows locally soon. I’m so stoked.

The biggest risk in this moment is something sociologists call “symbolic compliance.”

That’s when an institution that is violating civil rights gives the public just enough symbolic victories that accountability efforts lose steam before there has been any meaningful change.

I haven’t watched the non-extended (theatrical?) version of LOTR in so long but I respect how even it has a wild amount of lore front loaded.

For some reason I didn’t remember that. Shout out Cate Blanchett.

not to be a wet blanket but this also is a tactic in organized crime to make people forget the awful shit they do on a regular basis. this too is propaganda, do not forget
Minnesota National Guard members have arrived at a federal building and were directed to distribute donuts, coffee, and hot chocolate to anti-ICE protesters. Guard members were issued reflective vests so they would not be mistaken for federal agents.

In cat news my oldest one has started following me into the room I work from when I don’t go in to an office and sleeping in a chair near me. She just jumps up there as I’m getting started and stays there until I leave. It’s extremely sweet.

New government surveillance tool just dropped. If you’re on TikTok, the location data in particular is concerning, but I’ve been reading this weekend about algorithm and moderation changes too that make clear the intent of the Trump-friendly new owners. The platform is now a propaganda panopticon.

There’s a Gladys Knight album in here that fucking RIPS.
Grabbed a mystery pack of 10 vinyl records at the store today and now I’m listening to an Eddie Kendricks album. It’s pretty solid.

For those who don't know, Cursed Morsels is based out of Minneapolis. You've probably noticed that shit's kinda fucked here. That said, thousands of people are organizing with their neighbors to stop fascism and provide mutual aid, which is pretty goddamn cool. Let's keep it up. ❤️

I hope this doesn’t sound like I’m wagging my finger or anything but now that everyone sees what institutions like ICE do even when people are watching I hope everyone can acknowledge anarchists and communists called this ahead of time and consider listen to what we say about other issues.
