For some reason my SD to IDE adapter video has started gaining traction again. I've had over 3,400 views in the last 48 hours. And because of it, I have just crossed the 1,800 subscriber mark! Thank you to each and every one of you.

VGA Capture Thread: The last couple of videos I've made, I was a bit annoyed that the VGA capture solution I had come up with had a pink tinge to it. So I spent another £150 on gear unnecessarily. I bought a new VGA scaler, which is great but doesn't support the really weird DOS and Mac resolutions.

New thread: I took a gamble on somethin go on eBay that I was watching for a while but received a 33% off offer on so it was rude not to say yes. And it just got delivered! Now there's a method in my madness, the 7600 officially supports Rhapsody AND BeOS as well as Mac OS.

The £8 Toughbook CF-27 has arrived! And it's good news! It turns on and there's no password on the BIOS. Bad news is the screen is dodgy and it's missing some keys on the keyboard. However I _think_ it's the same model as the other one I have so I plan to swap over the motherboard and harddrive.

My mission to capture VGA has been a long and windy, twisty road which has had lots of bumps and bangs on the way but O M G this evening I think I've cracked it. (Almost - I need to play with colour). This isn't a screenshot, it's a frame from OBS. Again, ignore the colour.

I think the hard drive is going in my rough book. I managed to get it to boot and copied over some drivers and a screenshot of device manager in hopes it’ll make it easier to reinstall later.

I've been on eBay again...But I hope I got myself a bargain.

eBay's international shipping program costs are just absurd. Look at this:

I really wish I wasn't so bad at soldering or I knew someone close that was good at it. I managed to remove a component from my HomePod but my wick got stuck to the board and the tip of my soldering iron doesn't seem to get hot where as the sides do, so I can't get in to clean it up.

Hows your evening gone? Mine has been a part frustration part OMG bollocks I hope I didn't break it.

I was going to do an Amazon order for some bits for my latest video but I thought 'Let me just look in that box of junk in the studio and see what's in there'. Turns out I saved myself £70. I already have solder, flux, wick, IPA AND a brand new unused soldering iron.

Serious question: how do people surf the web without ad blockers?

Two great feelings, 1) uploading your new video to YouTube and 2) having a tidy studio after having EVERYTHING out to use whilst filming.

I made a new video! I was channeling my inner @actionretro.bsky.social by installing BeOS on a G3 Mac...

Good to know that Windows 95 still knows about the clocks changing.

Yet again I am doing something that likely will take me an hour so I can record a video and use 5 seconds of it for my latest video...stupid brain and it's ideas for "content"

The next bug I've found in Tahoe is QuickTime will open some videos upside down until you quit it and reopen it.

I just got off the phone with the great great grand boss to ask him a question: Would he give me permission to carry on working at my current job, remotely, from Spain. And he said Yes. So - that's started the ball rolling.

I spent about an hour faffing around with my new VGA capture setup earlier as I wasn't getting a signal through. I spent hours getting the setup right previously. It really gets on my nerves that sometimes you can't just sit down and record something for your video, you have to go through PAIN!
