Melania review – Trump film is a gilded trash remake of The Zone of Interest
Dispiriting, deadly and unrevealing – there is a decent documentary to be made about the former model from Slovenia, but this one is unredeemable

Let us remember that the NZ police unlawfully raided the house of journalist Nicky Hager after Hager published a book exposing the malfeasance of Judith Collins. Police had to apologise while Collins is being appointed by Luxon to head the Law Commission. What a joke. www.stuff.co.nz/nz-news/3505...

State of the Nation impressions:

Tone and affect both miles away from encouraging, let alone inspiring; very flat delivery, including in the Q&A. If there was a glimmer of a smile at all, it passed me by.

Also, the clink and clank of cutlery in the background is its own particular subtext. #nzpol

Good to see this has now been fixed.
On the back of the ManageMyHealth screw up, you wonder where bigger screw ups might be lurking once you discover minor issues. EG govt.nz hasn't been configured correctly. If you're using the wordmark 'govt.nz', you want to ensure that it works.

"The return of physical buttons isn’t just about nostalgia, although the Polo’s graphics definitely hark back to a simpler era. It’s about neuroscience. We have two modes of thinking available to us, popularised by Daniel Kahneman, as System 1 and System 2."

Why Volkswagen’s return to buttons is a UX triumph
By admitting that touchscreens aren’t the answer to everything, VW’s has embraced the cognitive science of the physical button. It’s a victory for muscle memory over minimalism.

When an ambulance finally arrived, it was blocked from reaching her by law-enforcement vehicles, and paramedics had to reach her on foot.

The ManageMyHealth breach exposes a system-level failure in how Aotearoa governs health IT security — relying on self-attestation, weak procurement controls, and the absence of enforceable standards.
