The great majority of human beings are as a minimum >ok. Unfortunately, a minority relish making us cynical, despairing and hateful. Don’t succumb.
It occurs to me that Trump being relatively nice about Keir Starmer while attacking the EU, is intended to discourage Starmer from getting closer to the EU. If undoing Brexit is disliked by Trump and Putin then it looks even more attractive.

GB News expresses similar outrage that companies won’t advertise on their channel. Why should anyone be obliged to hand over money if the medium and audience are wrong for their product? An exaggerated sense of entitlement and bullying wouldn’t change my mind.
How can you sue someone for not buying your products???!! Why doesn't he try not ruining the merchandise instead?

This is insightful. Trump has effectively said trust nothing and no one but me. His followers obediently do so and others are cowed and bullied into accepting his omnipotence and infallibility. We all know how difficult it to rescue someone from a cult. This is millions!
He got them to stop trusting ELECTIONS. To me, this is the greatest damage he has done to us and I wonder if we will ever have a normal election again. It's "we won" or "you cheated". Nothing else. I grieve for my grandchildren, who may never know a normal America. I'm. Just. So. Sad.😢 💙

The increase in #AirPollution and noise will affect us all in the borough

Whereas Boris Johnson famously said he’d lie in front of the first bulldozer, Labour’s Rachel Reeves is laying out the red carpet for the first bulldozer

There is little argument in favour of Heathrow expansion
BREAKING: Rachel Reeves confirms govt supports third runway at Heathrow & is inviting proposals by summer.

She says it will be delivered "in line with" govt's legal climate & environmental commitments.

"We cannot duck the decision any longer. The case is stronger than ever."

Some solar schemes involve spraying land with glyphosate for 30 years. Others mix food and energy production in creative ways that enhance biodiversity. Sensible Greens back some schemes and oppose others.
Do you think there is a climate emergency?
If so I am surprised at atleast one of the Green Councillors in mid Suffolk objection to solar farms
Hopefully any bylines investigation will look into this apparent contradiction

Labour talk a good game on nature, but when they need to make a decision, too often they revert to the option that further damages nature.

The UK is already one of the most nature depleted countries. If we truly want to stop further damage, we need to get Greens elected.

That's what happens when companies self certify.

More social housing needed!
All new houses to be properly insulated!
All old homes to be properly insulated!
And so on.
Labour just doesn't understand how to make homes safe and comfortable.
Labour's simplemindedness will be its downfall - and ours. You can't build and bulldoze your way out of the housing crisis. Unless you also change the system, you'll still leave millions without decent homes. My column today explains why.

Trump says that Gaza should be “cleaned out”. The Palestinian population of about 2 million taken by Egypt and Jordan. This accords with the Israeli agenda and his enticing vision of seashore condos. Disgusted but I am no longer capable of being surprised.

I wouldn’t say that so far I am disappointed by the Labour Government. It’s rather that I am consumed by pent up fury.
There's zero chance of Labour levying a tax on extreme wealth - it's just watered down its promised crackdown on tax avoidance by ultra-wealthy non-doms.

And Dale campaigned against the@greenparty.org.uk, which has long been calling for exactly the sort of wealth tax he describes here!
A tiny 2% wealth tax, on 20k people would raise £24 billion per year to spend on the things that urgently need fixing in our country.

We need some tax justice - the more money you have the less tax you pay and vice versa - that’s absurd.

The EU is entirely right in their effort to exercise some control controls on the American tech giants. That they turn to Trump to persuade him to bully the EU only emphasises the importance of them sticking to their policies. Sadly, I fear the bullying will weaken the commitment.

Projects like Heathrow R3 will not go ahead without a VERY big fight.

Take away legal process, and you force people into direct action.
