I actually weirdly enough agree with this, and the CJCS being fired ranks fairly low on the list of things I find concerning about their stated plans for the DoD.
The DOGE stuff, mass firings, repudiations of international alliances, and open distain for the laws of war are all markedly worse.

Disappointing to see a good CJCS fired 16 months into a 4 year term (designed to shield the military from politicization), but civ-mil reminder that every senior officer serves at the pleasure of the president, & the president deserves a senior military team he’s comfortable with — for any reason.
