Cancer has impacted too many people and their families. I wish you well in your work and hope we see tangible actions that prevent cases and improve outcomes for those living with cancer, from your work 👏👏
I'm pleased to share that as of today, I will serve as the Chairperson of the Oireachtas Cross-Party Cancer Group - a group of TDs and Senators who work alongside the Irish Cancer Society to hear directly from cancer patients and fight to improve cancer services across the country (1/4)

Good post here from Cllr @pidgeon.ie on the challenges of illegal air bnb’s and getting the balance right
I've had another illegal AirBnB in #Dublin shut down.

But it's a drop in the ocean.

Here's why the system doesn't work - and what we need to do to fix it.

They cannot silence the truth
BREAKING: Green Party councillors have walked out of Belfast City Council’s meeting after the Lord Mayor blocked a member from speaking on the Gaza genocide and refused a recess to resolve it. This is a clear overreach of the Mayor’s duty to act impartially.

Such sleight of hand …. Nothing new I suppose
As we’re out on freshers stands this week we’re hearing first hand from students the stress they are facing over increased student fees, don’t worry though, James Lawless has a plan to save the day!

Disabled people have tolerated too much, for too long.

€795m was allocated to the Department of Children and Equality in the NDP review — but where’s the detail?

Govt. must show their hand and deliver on their promises.

This is the basis of my motion that was eventually tabled at Kilkenny County Council in April 2024. Huge resistance from government parties. I was shocked but persisted
If those 20 EU govts who joined Monday's strong statement by Western countries to immediately allow aid & supplies move unencumbered into Gaza are ready to put their words into action, there's already a qualified majority to act. QMV can immediately suspend the trade chapter 1/4
The killing of civilians seeking aid in Gaza is indefensible.

I spoke again with Gideon Sa'ar to recall our understanding on aid flow and made clear that IDF must stop killing people at distribution points.

All options remain on the table if Israel doesn’t deliver on its pledges.

🚨 The €3.15bn Climate & Nature Fund that the Green Party fought for in Govt. has been raided by FF/FG.

This fund should be used as intended – to retrofit our buildings and to help farmers restore nature to meet our emissions targets.

The law may be slower sometimes but eventually it’s more effective and whatever way countries want to slice it they will pay heavily for inaction on #climateaction
Today's opinion by the International Court of Justice on Climate is huge. It establishes for the first time an obligation in international law that states must meet the commitments they signed up to in climate treaties, and must work with each other to achieve this

It’s a ‘task’ force. The hint is the title. Mr O’Driscoll will want to avoid manipulating his role to make obvious political slurs and get on with the job he is ‘tasked’ with and which the Irish people want to see done.
Sean O'Driscoll's comments on public transport investment are not compatible with his membership of the new Infrastructure Taskforce.

We are left with the question of whether his continued membership of this taskforce is tenable.
