Town of Ulysses, Finger Lakes, upstate New York. October 3, 2025, 6:21 pm. Canon F-1 | FL 35mm f/2.5 | Portra 160 | 1/30 sec at f/2.5 | dev/scan The Darkroom Lab | traditional treatment in LR/PS. It was two or three minutes after sunset, and the light was like this. No time to get the tripod, so needed to shoot wide open and chose focus. The reflection of the trees worked best, but one's eye must be comfortable with the out-of-focus leaves on the surface and the not-quite sharp leaves and rocks in the bed of the pond.

#Scape to the weekend, and we escaped yesterday. We'd decided to hike to Mt Diablo North Peak, but driving through the gloom we were regretting our choice, until a few miles from the trailhead we broke out into the sun. A cloudscape landscape #EastCoastKin #Photography
