I'm a parish minister in Connecticut loving the hell out of the world, resisting tyranny and autocracy, and lighting a candle in the darkness. All opinions are my own and not those of my congregation or denomination.
My sermon from 9-21-25 "Belonging as Civic Duty" references Brene Brown and James Luther Adams in arguing that group that foster true belonging are a weapon against the dehumanization of creeping fascism. youtu.be/6Zyt9hYvOAI

I am in downtown Los Angeles right now and it is completely surreal to hear that Trump is sending Marines here. We are listening to mariachi music. People have dogs. There are teenagers here. It is utterly and completely peaceful. Please tell your friends.

I ran an experiment, simultaneously posting articles on Bluesky and X, and then testing to see how many people actually clicked and read them. The numbers on Bluesky are higher, both because the X algorithm downranks journalism, and because Bluesky attracts readers, not just shitposters.
