I know they get huge hate but I absolutely love classic 70s/80s Catholic hymns like "Here I am, Lord" and "One Bread, One Body" and go absolutely bonkers when my Episcopal parish puts them into rotation. If I ever end up in ordained ministry those are top choices for a post-ordination services.

Way back when I was one of a small group of people working on anti-corruption programs in Afghanistan.

The Obama administration (and Richard Holbrooke) had said corruption was the #1 issue facing that country and we had to do something about it.
Acting deputy attorney general Emil Bove assembled DOJ's remaining public corruption prosecutors this morning and gave them an hour to find someone to sign the Eric Adams dismissal.

One of them agreed to do it, to spare the others from potentially being fired.

Trump does something illegal

Courts say no

Trump goes back to court and says but I should be able to do this other legal thing right

Court says of course

Trump declares victory

Dems say he caved

Conservatives say you’re stupid

Welcome to the next for years
NEW: It appears the judge’s order that barred Treasury officials from accessing the government’s massive payment system will be short-lived as Trump admin seeks lift of the “impermissible” restrictions.

And, shocker, it didn’t require defying the courts.

These Super Bowl commercials are reminding everyone that no matter what the right-wing says or does, ‘Diversity, Equity and Inclusion’ are here to stay in America.

Sorry MAGA, but that train has left the station.

I cannot, during these horrific times, recommend enough the importance of making pockets of time to just do things that are not related to anything but the joy of being alive and playing. You need it. You do. It will keep you whole. Which we need. We need you whole.

To emphasize once again: the vast majority of fentanyl traffickers are US citizens, who get less scrutiny from CBP when they reenter the country at ports of entry.

Here's the U.S. Sentencing Commission noting that in FY 2023, 86.4% of people sentenced for fentanyl trafficking were US citizens.
