That's two audio commentaries edited and submitted in less than a week, a new record for me I think. This latest one is for a strange little low budget Itallian film starring an actress who doesn't get enough attention in cult film circles. We hope to change that with this release!

It looks like this is coming out in November, almost exactly a year after we recorded our new commentary. What a strange and entertaining film this is:

All new A24 films all seem to be shot mainly in close-up and medium close-up in shallow focus. Every time I see one in the cinema I’m desperately hoping someone will buy the cinematographer a wide angle lens.

File this under "You don't see stuff like that in the cinema any more."

I can't believe I'm only just now discovering the existence of the Italian disco mafia movie White Pop Jesus.

Just submitted another booklet essay for an upcoming Blu Release. I've written about Sybil Danning. It was fun, but I really didn't have time to do it. This photo is not necessarily the film in question.

Another day, another fabulous boxset from @imprintfilms.bsky.social reviewed by me for Cinema Retro. This time it's the ghostly Shaw Brothers!

I think my #letterboxdfriday #lastfourwatched is pretty representative of the kind of thing I'm into. Interestingly, three of those films feature copious amounts of skulls.

I'm reading this now and it's great!
😍
I've been waiting for this book for a long time! "Hollywood Haunts The World: An Investigation into the Cinema of Occulted Taboos" It looks at how fringe and so-called transgressive ideas on everything from Freud, to Theosophy, to UFOs, etc are reflected in our popular films.

Last four watched for #letterboxdfriday. A good mix.

I've crossed ethical lines here and reviewed a boxset from @imprintfilms.bsky.social that features a commentary track by me. Regardless of that, it's a wonderful set:
