Honestly, not a terrible list
I like the idea of "one game per franchise"
What throws me off (and not that I'm ready to shoehorn specific games into here) is how they strictly adhere to Japanese developed titles... Though it's generally recognized JRPG is a style of game, not just "made in Japan"
The team at IGN made a list related to our interests about their Top 25 #JRPG games ever!❤️ They operated under a "one game per franchise" rule; and say what you will about what's here/not, there's still 25 very good games worth playing here.

26 years ago, Ken Griffey Jr's Slugfest(NA) was released. I recently found an interview where Griffey Jr discusses being involved in the games. He claims to still have four Nintendo 64s and says he was "in the right spot, at the right time"
