A safer path to settlement for undocumented migrants currently living in the UK. #SaferPathToSettlement

Undocumented people build our cities, care for our families & do the work this country relies on.

But instead of recognising their humanity, this government is escalating hostility, raids & removals.

Longer settlement routes help no-one. When people can settle sooner, many feel more relaxed & hopeful, supporting needs for connection, belonging & participation. Extending routes limits stability &support. UK must abolish policies that marginalise migrants & undermine our rights

More people are being made undocumented — not by accident, but by design.

The system itself creates and traps people in irregularised immigration status.

The government knows this — and that it can be fixed with a stroke of a pen.

📢Immigration raids are happening daily — in homes, at work, in public.

They tear lives apart, spread fear & push people deeper into the shadows.

It's state violence — rising under Labour.

The system enables exploitation & even enslavement.

Saying you’re “building a Britain for all” while pushing anti-migrant (i.e. racist) policies is dehumanising.

Starmer’s government isn’t tackling racism—it’s entrenching it.
If he's serious he’d:
⚡End the hostile environment & scapegoating
⚡Grant the right to stay & make settlement easier for ALL

Digital IDs aren’t a “solution” — they’re a weapon for control.

They’ll deepen exclusion, legitimise prejudice, enable exploitation & embolden hostility.

Regularise calls on gov to abandon this plan and adopt a pragmatic approach ➡️ REGULARISATION

110,000 far-right & anti-migrant voices flooded London. We were outnumbered 20:1 — kettled for hours — but we showed up. Statements don’t outnumber fascists. Bodies on the streets do. Next time — and there will be a next time — show up. Read our founders words⬇️

'Migration isn’t a problem to fix – it’s a reality to embrace and support. Involve, protect, and invest in all workers – including those who come to the UK seeking better lives – because dignity depends not on a passport, but on our shared humanity'

1/ Italy’s recent referendum to fast-track citizenship for migrants failed due to a low turnout — just 30% voted, below the 50% quorum. While Italy faced a boycott, the UK is planning to make it even harder for most migrants to settle and gain citizenship.

It will @nesrinemalik.bsky.social . The 10-year route ALREADY causes untold pain. Undocumented people who manage to regularise after 20 years are forced onto it, spending 30+ years in limbo. It's used as punishment. Now Labour wants to expand that cruelty to more people.
