A safer path to settlement for undocumented migrants currently living in the UK. #SaferPathToSettlement

Thoughts and prayers to this government’s humanity. You cannot unite a country by abandoning humanity. When governments other and dehumanise people, they don’t heal divisions — they deepen them, and in the process dehumanise themselves.

More people are being made undocumented — not by accident, but by design.

The system itself creates and traps people in irregularised immigration status.

The government knows this — and that it can be fixed with a stroke of a pen.

This past weekend, Regularise spoke at the Green Party Conference 2025 in Bournemouth at a @gpmigration.bsky.social fringe event.

A migrant-led panel on the Hostile Environment — exposing state violence in the asylum & immigration system, and what must change. Chaired by @carladenyer.bsky.social

Saying you’re “building a Britain for all” while pushing anti-migrant (i.e. racist) policies is dehumanising.

Starmer’s government isn’t tackling racism—it’s entrenching it.
If he's serious he’d:
⚡End the hostile environment & scapegoating
⚡Grant the right to stay & make settlement easier for ALL

Meanwhile, Labour’s policies — including plans to make it harder to qualify for Indefinite Leave to Remain (settlement) & citizenship — are also racist.

So too are their current practices: denying people the right to work, rent a home, and detaining & deporting undocumented people whose home is UK

110,000 far-right & anti-migrant voices flooded London. We were outnumbered 20:1 — kettled for hours — but we showed up. Statements don’t outnumber fascists. Bodies on the streets do. Next time — and there will be a next time — show up. Read our founders words⬇️

The UK ought to embrace migration, not exclude more people. That means:

- Expanding pathways for students & graduates to stay

- Regularisation for those excluded from status

- A system based on dignity, opportunity & rights

📢 Migration is a human right.
No human is illegal.

Back in 2013, Yvette Cooper slammed the Tories for “borrowing the language of the 1970s National Front” and vowed Labour would not join an “arms race of rhetoric on immigration”

That was then. This is now. As Home Secretary, Cooper hasn’t just joined the arms race — she’s escalated it

🚨 The Home Office has launched a mass text + email campaign targeting international students + families:

From “Go Home” vans in 2013 → straight to your pocket in 2025.

The racist hostile environment hasn’t ended — it’s been upgraded.

Undocumented people build our cities, care for our families & do the work this country relies on.

But instead of recognising their humanity, this government is escalating hostility, raids & removals.

Denied the right to work.
No access to housing.
No safety net.
No bank account.
Exploited.
Isolated.
Afraid.
Years — often decades — in limbo.

This story is one of many.
📢 We must listen. We must demand change.
No one ought to suffer like this for simply seeking a better life.

"The initial costs to regularise my status are close to £4,000, and that's just the start of a lengthy and expensive process that will last at least another 10 years. Undocumented migrants like me aren’t even allowed to work, making these fees impossible." - Anon. undocumented in the UK

History has shown that when we stay silent, injustice spreads and becomes the norm. Who will speak if you don’t?

🌍 Migrants' Rights Are Human Rights 🌍

This International Migrants' Day, we reaffirm a simple yet vital truth: every migrant, regardless of immigration status or journey, holds full and unconditional human rights.
