a friend years ago pointed out that tents require stakes; the bigger the tent, the more important the stakes

(this was about a certain org allowing zionists and ex-COs as members in 2017, not about dems, but the metaphor works)
Raskin: We are a big tent. We must be a huge, vast tent. I say this is a party that’s got room for Marjorie Taylor Greene if she wants to come over.

boomer liberals are obsessed with the concept of "woke" suddenly. my mother keeps pointing out how "woke" things are, "this book display is really woke," "the museum has gotten more woke since we came last," but positively.
i welcome all foot soldiers to the woke 2 fight, but it is offputting.

Official misconduct is found in the vast majority of wrongful convictions out of Boston. These allegations reveal a culture of covering up misconduct rather than holding officers accountable. Lies in police reports, like the ones here, cause people to lose their freedom, family, & lives. Shameful.

awful. hopefully she never works again, truly. but what was she saying about italians that made the article author mention them specifically? have the white supremacists come up with new anti-italian racism or is it just the classics?

here are two fun facts:
1. ibuprofen is the only OTC medication that can meaningfully ease menstrual cramps because it inhibits the production of prostaglandins, which cause the sometimes unbearable pain
2. prostaglandins also allow teeth movement so those with orthodontia shouldn't take it at all
JD Vance calls ibuprofen "useless medication" and implies it's not "necessary, safe and effective."

Treat based fascism continues to be prevalent ideology of this hospice case of a nation
Missouri's AG Andrew Bailey is suing Starbucks, arguing that its workforce is too "female" and "non-white" and as a result Missouri consumers “pay higher prices and wait longer for goods and services" because its workforce is "less qualified"

This is a brazenly racist and sexist lawsuit.

i also remember this day because the kids played a version of tag where the tagger was either NPH (long acting), R (dead in bed syndrome), or H (lispro). they had to move like the assigned insulin type and little 8 year old me never laughed so hard running around pretending to be a carbohydrate.
i was a diabetic on R. i remember the day we started H because it was a miracle. the local hospital had a day long training for dozens of families making the switch. parents were crying in relief while kids were practicing injections on teddy bears.

it was ABSOLUTELY the standard by fall of 1996.
November 11, 2025 at 5:05 PM
the insulin that people take today was the standard in *1996* you fucking cretin. the previous insulin was known for "dead in bed syndrome", so the miracle of lispro's release was monumental. it hasn't been changed since and there is very little research happening to attempt to improve it.
Nobody is paying out the ass for antihistamines or the shit on the WHO list of essential medicines. Even the insulin that people take today was not the standard in 2000. And everyone's insurance goes up when they invent new expensive shit for people who would have died before.
November 11, 2025 at 4:28 PM
the vast majority of diabetics are on an insulin that was created and has not been changed since 1996. it is the 84th most commonly prescribed medication in the US, with more than 8 million prescriptions.
it is on the WHO's list of essential medicines.
